Liebert Receives Hirsch Award from Law Libraries Association

Professor June Liebert, director of the Louis L. Biro Law Library at The John Marshall Law School, has been awarded the Kenneth J. Hirsh Award presented by the Computing Services Special Interest Section (CS-SIS), part of the American Association of Law Libraries (AALL).

This award honors a CS-SIS member who has made outstanding contributions to the SIS, to AALL, and who is well regarded for his or her service to the profession. The inaugural award recipient was Ken Hirsh, in whose honor the award is named.

Liebert served as a member-at-large on the CS-SIS from 2003 until serving as its chair in 2008-2009.  She was the long-time CS-SIS webmaster and completely revised the website.  She also initiated the successful web 2.0 challenge series while she was CS-SIS chair.

In addition, Liebert presented several times at AALL meetings on behalf of the CS-SIS section. In 2010, she gave the program “Turning the Page: e-Book Readers in Law Libraries.”  She will be coordinating and moderating a follow-up program, “E-books and the Future of Legal Publishing,” at the 2011 annual meeting.
