The chief judge of Kane County has been appointed to a seat on the appeals bench, according to the Illinois Supreme Court.
The high court announced Friday that Judge Robert Spence has been named to the nine-member 2nd District appellate court, which is located in Elgin. His appointment is effective Nov. 5.
