The John Marshall Law School Alumni Association’s annual Freedom Award and Distinguished Service Awards Luncheon on May 10, 2013, will honor outstanding citizens who have either dedicated their careers to military service or are working to improve the lives of veterans.
The Student Bar Association (SBA) honored outstanding student organizations and members of faculty and staff at Spring Fling on April 24, 2013, the final SBA event of the 2012-2013 academic year. William Powers, associate dean for Student Affairs, and Kurt Brna, SBA president, presented faculty members and organizations with plaques and certificates.
The John Marshall Law School Board of Trustees named Paula Hudson Holderman, a 1979 graduate, to a seat on the board at its April meeting. She will serve through May 2015 filling a vacancy created when Victor Henderson stepped down from the board.
The Corporate Law Association presented Judge Cheryl Cesario (JD ’81) of the Circuit Court of Cook County with the Francis D. Morrissey Legal Achievement Award at the association’s dinner on April 12, 2013.
The Fashion Law Society hosted its first Fashion and Design Law Symposium April 12, 2013, which welcomed dozens of guests from across the country and abroad.

Professor Doris Estelle Long (center), director of the Center for Intellectual Property Law, welcomed experts for a roundtable discussion looking at the judicial criticism of the methodologies used by patent damage experts in litigation cases, such as Apple v. Motorola and Brandeis University v. Keebler.
