Third-year law students Natalie Laczek and Michon Stuttley organized the newest student organization and began work on the society’s kickoff event, the Fashion and Design Law Symposium, set for 8:30 to 4:30 p.m. on April 12 at the law school. It is the first symposium of its kind in Chicago.
The Center for International Law welcomed students and attorneys to a presentation by Professor Melissa L. Tatum of the University of Arizona, James E. Rogers College of Law on March 20. She addressed “What All Lawyers Need to Know About Indigenous Peoples Law.”
Mark Schaeve (JD ’06) gave a presentation on “Tips for Aspiring Litigators” on March 19 as part of the Career Services Office programs this semester.
The John Marshall Faculty Activity Report is a comprehensive account of all faculty scholarly activities and publications, presentations, pro bono work, and general service to the legal community.
The students, studying the craft of legislative analysis and drafting with Adjunct Professor Kevin Hull, are involved with a project stemming from the high-profile murder of a California teenager, Chelsea King, whose family has since moved back to Naperville, Ill., from San Diego.
John Marshall students Catherine Foresman, Lindsay Ruedig, Sara Tremurici and Polina Kostylev took second place at the Florida State University National Civil Mock Trial Competition March 7-10.
Anderson has been working with the law school as an Investment Committee member since 2009. He is filling the vacancy created when Illinois Supreme Court Justice Thomas Fitzgerald was appointed to the emeritus board. Anderson will fill the remaining one year on Fitzgerald’s term.
Students representing the Brehon Society at The John Marshall Law School and IIT–Chicago Kent College of Law marched in Chicago’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade on March 16, 2013.
