Volunteers Intellectual Property Experts Needed

Attorneys and others with expertise in intellectual property law are needed as volunteers for a program The John Marshall Law School is giving at one of Chicago’s premier high schools. Volunteers will teach a two-hour weekly patent law class for honors students at Austin Polytechnical Academy. The classes give students basic insights on intellectual property law, what a patent is, how to obtain a patent and protect it. By the end of the semester, students will put on a mock trial on a patent issue. The students are mentored by John Marshall students who help them write briefs and prepare for the trial. For additional information on how you can become a volunteer, contact Arthur Yuan at the law school at ayuan@jmls.edu or 312.427.2737, ext. 794.
