New Staff Helping With John Marshall Computer Needs

Information Technology Services (ITS) has several new staff members.

Technical Communicator and Instructional Design Specialist Edith Rodriguez started in this newly created position in late March. She has taken on responsibilities for documenting the department’s processes and procedures using best practices to maximize end user’s information retention.

Rodriguez creates, edits and works to ensure all documentation conforms to the law school’s branding policies, and she is helping to standardize consistent communication language for the department. Rodriguez also is reviewing and editing the department’s policies and disaster recovery plan to reflect the recent technological features available to the law school community. She will be working on developing instructional videos to help users learn how to use the many features of applications such as eCommons, MOX and Wifarer.

Rodriguez received a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from DePaul University and a master of science in Technical Communication and Information Design from Illinois Institute of Technology.

Chris Lagodzinska is the emerging applications specialist. He analyzes, integrates, improves and updates applications that are currently used or being considered for use at JMLS.

Applications like Cloudpath (the process for getting on WiFi) and Exclaimer Signature Manager (The signatures all the staff have now) are a small sample. He lives in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood.

James Pierce

James Pierce

Four new employees are manning the Help Desk, which has been relocated to the 5th Floor in the State Street building. Help Desk analysts work to find and resolve ITS-related issues for students, faculty and staff to maximize their technological user experience.

Full-time ITS Help Desk analysts are Rick Velasco and James Pierce. They are joined by part-time analyst Jason Dengler, and Cyrus Rahimi, junior network analyst.

Velasco received a bachelor’s degree in Spanish literature from Illinois State University. He is living in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood. Pierce, who also lives in Lakeview, currently matriculates at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

Jason Dengler

Dengler, who lives in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood, received a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from John Carroll University, and is now a student in the master’s degree program in computer graphics and motion technology at DePaul University.

Cyrus Rahimi

Cyrus Rahimi

Rahimi installs, configures and maintains network services and equipment. He also administers the servers, troubleshoots the network infrastructure, and provides a.m. support to the ITS Help Desk.

Rahimi, an Evanston resident, has a bachelor’s degree in early modern European history from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and a master’s degree in network engineering and management from DePaul University.
