Mortgage Foreclosures Seminar

The John Marshall Law School Fair Housing Legal Support Center hosted “Effective Defense of Mortgage Foreclosure Actions,” a half-day seminar that focused on the requirements of standing in Illinois state courts in foreclosure cases, endorsement of notes, assignment of mortgages, and related issues. Professor Michael Seng (left), co-executive director of the Center, welcomed guest speakers Circuit Court of Cook County Judges Mathias W. Delort (JD ’85) (second from left), and Pamela Hughes Gillespie (center). They were joined by Adjunct Professor Kelli Dudley (JD ’03) (fourth from left), who co-teaches the Predatory Lending class with Seng, and Dennis Smith (JD ’10) (right), project assistant for the Fair Lending/Home Preservation Law Project, organized under a U.S. Housing and Urban Development grant.
