The Center for Intellectual Property Law at The John Marshall Law School is hosting the 55th Annual Intellectual Property Conference, “Hot Topics; Developments in Patent, Trademark, Copyright and Trade Secrets Law,” from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday, Feb. 25, at the law school, 315 S. Plymouth Ct.
The conference morning session, “Recent Developments in Intellectual Property (IP) Law,” opens at 9 a.m. Top attorneys will outline changes in patent, trademark, copyright, and trade
secret laws, and counterfeiting.
At 12:30 p.m., Chief Judge James F. Holderman of the United States District Court, Northern District of Illinois, will be the featured luncheon speaker addressing “The Future Challenges
of IP Litigation: A Judge’s Perspective.”
The afternoon portion of the conference, from 2 to 5 p.m., will be divided into two sessions focusing on patent issues or trademark, copyright, and related issues. Professor Richard S.
Gruner, director of the Center for Intellectual Property Law at The John Marshall Law School, will serve as moderator for the patent issues program. The Center’s associate director, William
T. McGrath of Davis McGrath, LLC, will serve as moderator for the trademark, copyright and related issues program. The program will conclude with a reception from 5 to 6 p.m. Attendees
can earn seven CLE hours. Costs to attend the conference are $195 for general registration, $95 for participants from government, the judiciary, or academia. There is no charge for John Marshall students. The registration deadline is Feb. 18, 2011.
