Kenneth C. Anderson, president of the multi-billion dollar family of mutual funds, Aston Asset Management in Chicago, has joined The John Marshall Law School Board of Trustees.
Anderson has been working with the law school as an Investment Committee member since 2009. He is filling the vacancy created when Illinois Supreme Court Justice Thomas Fitzgerald was appointed to the emeritus board. Anderson will fill the remaining one year on Fitzgerald’s term.
“It is my pleasure to join the board. I am happy to share my knowledge as an accountant and investment manager to help the law school as its makes decisions about its short-term and long-term needs,” Anderson said.
“We have been working with Ken for the past several years. The board of trustees is delighted that he has agreed to accept this position. He has much to share with the other members of the board,” said Leonard F. Amari, president of the board of trustees.
Anderson has 25 years experience in the mutual fund and other financial services industries. At Aston, he is part of a three-person Management Committee and a member of the Investment Committee overseeing the selection and monitoring of sub-advisers. Aston manages more than $12 billion of assets under management.
Before taking the Aston leadership position, Anderson was an executive vice president at ABN AMRO Asset Management; president and CEO of ABN AMRO Funds; and vice president, CFO and compliance officer for Alleghany Funds.
After receiving a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Loyola University Chicago, Anderson worked for KPMG in its financial services practice. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Charter Global Management Accountant (CGMA).
