Professors Jamie Kleppetsch and Mary Nagel

Activities

They have been invited to present at the Summer Conference of the Institute for Law Teaching and Learning at Gonzaga University School of Law in June 2012.  They will be part of a panel discussing “It Just Makes Sense—How to Incorporate Critical Reading and Practical Teaching Into a More Complete Law School Learning Experience.”

The program will be divided into three parts.  Professor Hilliary Burgess of Charlotte School of Law will speak first.  Nagel will address the uses of “real world” tactics into a doctrinal class using a civil procedure class as an example to show how students hone their skills learned from critical reading and incorporate “legal strategy” into the classroom.  Kleppetsch will address how John Marshall’s program underscores these skills by demonstrating how to incorporate these goals into a final examination for doctrinal classes.
